INSTRUCTORS: EMILY ANDREWS AND MEGAN ANDREWS
JULY 12 – AUGUST 2
FRIDAYS @ 9:00AM PST
ADULTS | $135

Class Description

When we sent out a survey asking our email subscribers about what they were most intimidated to teach, there was one response that outweighed all the others: poetry. This summer Emily and Megan will be leading a summer session for parents and teachers, with the goal to make everyone just a bit more comfortable with that mysterious metrical art.

We will be diving into the details of what it looks like to apply Teaching the Classics principles specifically to poetry. In the process, we will be making the method concrete by reading and discussing plenty of good poems by some of our favorite classic and contemporary poets, including Billy Collins, Mary Oliver, Matthew Arnold, and Alfred Lord Tennyson.

Class Schedule

Classes will be held on Fridays at 9:00 AM Pacific / 11:00AM Eastern and run between 90 minutes and 2 hours. Readings will be posted inside Google classroom during the first week of July, but most reading will take place together during our live meetings.

Class #2 - July 19th: Understanding Literary Devices
